Japan Policy Commons (JPC)
Co-Founder, 2025-Present
Japan Policy Commons (JPC) is a collaborative digital ecosystem for connecting policy-relevant scholarship on Japan’s politics, economics, and security.
As Japan’s role in international affairs grows, policy-relevant expertise is becoming harder to build, access, and sustain in academia. By strengthening networks of scholars and practitioners, JPC ensures that rigorous, policy-relevant knowledge in the United States and beyond continues to inform decision-making in an increasingly complex global environment.
JPC operates through membership in a Linkedin platform, which will be curated and managed collectively by a group of Japan scholars involved in its conception and setup. Through the LinkedIn ecosystem scholars, practitioners, and emerging experts can share research and connect with others engaged in policy-relevant work on Japan. Members are invited to
Raise awareness of policy-relevant academic or other research on Japan’s domestic politics and international relations
Showcase avenues of engagement that connect scholars, policymakers, and practitioners
Build a pipeline to help promote, mentor, and sustain the work of junior and emerging Japan experts
Visit the JPC LinkedIn page below. We invite scholars, practitioners, and emerging experts to join this growing network and help strengthen the ecosystem of policy-relevant knowledge on Japan.
We are very grateful to the United States-Japan Foundation for its support in launching JPC.
